Research and fact finding

No day passes by in Old Fadama that a woman or a girl is not assaulted. Gender-based violence is very common among residents. Women are raped and girls defiled. FLAP has therefore introduced a project   starting early next year, latest by February, 2014 to set up a desk at the legal centre to research and embark on a fact finding mission to unravel the reasons behind the actions of the men against the women and girls in the community.

Questionnaires will be designed and survey conducted to help the victim find the facts and thus help a victim to report the crime. The results of the findings can also enable FLAP to initiate a long- term project in the slum to find lasting solution to the problem at hand.
